grafana-infra

A Docker Compose stack for frontend observability. Pick a signal and follow it through the real config files.

Pick a signal

The stack does not run on this page. The build reads the files of the repository, so each line above is a real line. Pick a node to see its file.

      Which panel reads which rule

The panels stand on their real grid positions. Pick a panel for its query, or a rule for its panels.

      The recording rules of lag.yaml

      • names the rule
      • reads the same raw metric

No panel here shows a value. These are the definitions of the panels, not measurements.

      Change a port

A change runs the variable substitution of Compose on the real docker-compose.yml. The signal map follows it.

        ServiceFrom your computerInside Compose

Only the host ports change. Inside Compose, the services still use their fixed ports, so config.alloy keeps its addresses.

        Run it on your computer

These commands use the values above. The sample data comes from scripts/send-sample-data.mjs.

For your own computer only. Each visitor gets the Editor role in Grafana with no password, so each visitor can read all your telemetry and change the dashboards. The default password of admin is admin, and that account has the Admin role. Compose publishes the ports on all network interfaces, so another computer on your network can open them. Do not run this stack on a shared network or a server.

        1. Start the stack
        2. Send sample data
        3. Open Grafana
